Busy, busy, busy!

July has been a little bit of a crazy month for us! Since the last time I sat down to blog, we've had some fun! First off, Josie is teething like crazy. Another tooth broke through sometime Friday night or Saturday, bringing her total up to 9. Also, she LOVES finger foods. Her favorites so far are Ravioli and mashed potatoes, both of which usually end with a bath.

We were luck enough to spend the last 5 days with my older brother David. He flew out from Hawaii for a wedding, and it was too expensive to go home and fly back out for Kelley's wedding, so he is having a long vacation. :) We played lots of games and just had fun! On the 24th, Kelley came up and we bbq'd and lit some fireworks. Josie wasn't too sure about those.

Early Sunday morning, we found out that Justin's cousin was having his mission homecoming that day, so we hurried and packed everything up and went down to catch the meeting. He did a great job and the party at Aunt Yvonne's house after was excellent, as always. :)
Sunday dinner was the July birthday dinner, so we got to celebrate! Mimi made mashed potatoes just for Josie. I made a cake for everyone and a little one for Josie. Here are some pictures of the party: The cakes- I decorated the big one and Justin and Dave did Josie's.

Hanging out with Tim and Kim

Singing happy birthday.. she wasn't sure about that fire stuff. :)

Digging in! She wasn't bashful AT ALL. The entire little cake was crumbs when she was done with it. She thought it was pretty tasty.

After cake and ice cream, the babies pretty much needed a bath, so we let them play in the sink for a little bit. Tucker and Josie are going to get into a lot of trouble running around together.. we can already tell.

Josie is a walking fiend! She walks more places than she crawls these days. She's still a little scared of walking around outside, but inside, she does great!

Opening presents--Thanks everyone for the new toys!

The family all sitting around watching. The kids helped Josie enjoy her new toys. :)

Silly Uncle Dave.. we miss you already and can't wait to see you in California in a couple of weeks!

the lazy blogger...

So, it has nearly been a month since I posted anything. I wish I could say that I've been really REALLY busy, but I haven't. I've just been really REALLY lazy when it comes to blogging. Part of the problem is that with my new computer, I've had to reinstall the programs that I use to get my pictures off the computer/edit/etc. Well, I finally buckled down today and got it all on the new computer. Here is a picture overload of what we've been up to.
Sitting on Aunt Dee's fireplace..
Outsmarting the baby-proof cabinets about 2 seconds after I put the dumb things on..

Going to the park!

Happy Father's Day!!

A new found love of mashed potatoes!
Silly faces..

First skinned knee..
Growing so big that Mom had to get out the 12-18 mo. size clothes. Here's a new outfit that Mimi and Papa gave us a while back. :)

Fourth of July!!
Breakfast at Uncle Scott and Aunt Pam's house for the family reunion.

Movie Star!

The 2nd Annual parade at Mimi and Papa's house. The kids decorated bikes, strollers, a goat and a wagon. The baby wagon. Too cute!
The grand finale of the parade.. mmm.. candy!
Big box of cute hand-me-downs from cousins. I love these overalls!

A new car seat..

My first adventure in the world of Marshmallow fondant. Fun, huh?
First trip to Willow Park Zoo.
Developing a love of purses already.
Last, but certainly not least, we had a family reunion this weekend. Here are the pictures I took. It was a fun time! Plus, I don't know Justin's extended family all that well, so it was fun to get to know them all a little better.

Hopefully I'll keep on top of the posting a little better in the month to come, so there won't be any more mammoth posts like this one. Other things going on this month that we didn't take pictures of:

1. Tutu came to visit for a few days! We were too busy having fun with her to take any pictures. She was only at our house for 2 days before she ran off to Lake Powell.

2. My brother Dave is in town and will be coming up for a visit this week. We can't wait!!

3. My sister Kelley is getting married next month, and me and Josie will be taking off to California for the wedding, and extending our trip for a little visit with the Californian siblings.

We have lots of fun to come and can't wait! We'll be sure to keep on posting.. :)

Its the little things..

I have been putting off shopping for a few days now and finally had to brave the heat and make it to Sam's Club. (I only had 3 diapers left...) Josie has been a little more cranky than lately for 2 reasons: 1. Teething (YUCK!) 2. Lack of naps--she's been skipping her afternoon nap about every other day now and taking shorter morning naps.
So, we had a fairly decent morning nap and I thought that going out would be ok. We got into Sam's and I had a fussy baby who just wanted to be held the entire time. Have you ever tried shopping in bulk while carrying a nearly 20lb baby??? Its not easy, but I was handling it. Then it was time to get the diapers. They were stacked about 5 boxes high and I reached up for the top one and saw, in SLOW MOTION, the entire stack start tipping towards the aisle, then CRASH!! That's right, I knocked down half the diapers. We're talking mega-packs of diapers filling the aisle. No one could get past. On top of that, the falling boxes scared Josie and she started crying. Then, the worst part is that a Sam's Club employee saw the entire thing happen and WALKED AWAY. I was so angry. I was headed for a melt down, when a very nice lady came up and said, "I totally understand what you're going through. You never have enough hands!" and helped me stack the diapers back up. So what could have been a potentially terrible day turned out to be just a funny story because of someone doing something so small and easy to make me feel better. It took that lady a whole 5 seconds to help me, but it made all the difference to me! Thank you, kind stranger in Sam's Club!!!
