Tutu and Papa Visit

We were lucky enough to have my Mom and Dad come for a visit in July. It was great to get to spend so much time with them and with the family that lives out here!
We started out with a day at the splash pad. The cute kids wanted to get warm in the sun.
We had a fun day at the zoo with everyone.

We had a play day at Kelley and Nate's. The kids played in the pool while some of the adults had a water-gun fight. Kim, Trisha and I TOTALLY smoked Justin and Jon.  :)
Charlotte even got in the spirit!

We made sure to get some pictures the last night we were all together.

Little Josie had a birthday in July! She is now 4!! Here is the party with Justin's family:
 Yup, still silly.
On the 24th, we celebrated Pioneer day with some Pop-its and sparklers. The girls thought they were pretty great.

We had another party with my family for Josie's birthday. What a lucky girl!

Well, now I'm only 3 1/2 months behind. Hopefully I'll catch up soon. Stay tuned! :)

Only a few months late...

Here we go again.. playing catch-up. :)
At the end of June, we had another family reunion. It was SO fun! I loved getting to know Justin's extended family a little better and letting the girls have some fun play time. I didn't get a lot of pictures though..

July started out with LOADS of fun. We started celebrating the 4th of July with a breakfast at Mimi and Papa's house. Josie and her cousins somehow found a hornet nest. I think Josie must have been the one to find it because she ended up with 17 stings!! Luckily, a little bendryl stopped the swelling and a parade cheered Josie right up!

That evening, we headed to Dan & Trisha's house for fun with the other side of the family. We had swimming, playing and riding bikes, finished off by some fantastic fireworks! Uncle Jon goes for the aerials. It was amazing!

By the end of the fireworks, both Josie and Charlotte were asleep. Silly girls! We had a great time with all the family!

May and Part 1 of June

May was a month full of enjoying the wonderful weather! Jon and Kimberly moved to a new place that is conveniently located near 2 playgrounds! Here we are trying one of them out.

Charlotte's new favorite thing to do at a store is to get two armfuls of stuffed animals and give them a big hug, them put them back one by one. Here she is with the Sesame Street bunch.
On Memorial Day, Justin and I decided to put our new fitness programs to the test by doing a local hike up to Big Rock. It was tough, but it was worth it! The view was great and Josie still asks all the time if we can go hiking again soon.

On June 2nd, we moved from Mimi & Papa's basement (THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!) to our wonderful new home (that we bought back in March). We absolutely LOVE our new house! We all feel right at home. I was surprised with how quickly and how well the girls adjusted. We're close to a big park with a splash pad and we've tried it out a few times.
Kelley and Gavin came and tried it out with us.

Papa Sessions was in town for one night, so we had a party at our house and the kids thought it was the best thing ever to play with Papa. It was so great to see him! I didn't get any pictures, but Justin has a few on his phone, so I'll try to swipe those before the next post. :)

Charlotte has decided her favorite place to be and play is the sippy cup drawer. She loves pulling them out and putting them all away.
June has been full of enjoying the summer time: sunshine, water, and ice cream!

This last weekend, we had a family reunion (Justin's mom's family). It was a car-themed reunion and we had lots of fun making cardboard cars for the girls. We skipped the "drive-in" movie, cause it didn't start until after 8 and the girls were already crabby.

Saturday morning started with breakfast and then some "wheel-time", where the kids got to ride around on their bikes, scooters, etc.

Josie made a new best friend.
After lunch, we wrapped things up with an awesome Pinewood Derby! We made a car for each of the girls and it was a blast!

After the family reunion, we headed down to Gavin's birthday party. He's 2 now! The party was at a rec center with an awesome pool, with a slide and everything. I don't have many pictures because I was swimming with Josie and Charlotte most of the time. But here is one that sums it up pretty good:
Great party, good food, delicious cupcakes. Happy Birthday, Gavin!
Well, we're caught up for now, but June is a busy month for us, so check back soon for pictures of another family reunion and lots of fun!
