End of March and April

After celebrating Charlotte's birthday, we didn't have much going on until the end of March. The last Sunday, we had a family party to celebrate the March birthdays. Charlotte and Lucas shared a cake. It was awesome!
Most of you probably know, but at the end of March, we bought a house! Hurray! We also rented to the previous owners for 2 months so that their kids could finish out the school year before they moved out of state, so we didn't move in until June 2nd.. It is a GORGEOUS house. See?? :)
The weather started warming up, so we had some outside play days:

Charlotte was bumped out of the youngest grandchild slot by 2 new baby cousins. She's a year older than them.. she should be a little bigger.. haha
Easter came around and Josie could not wait to dye eggs! We tried the Kool-aid dying method and it worked great, until it was time to peel the eggs. Then your hands became whatever color the eggs were. But we had fun anyways!

We had an egg hunt at Dan & Trisha's with all the cousins, because getting together on Sunday wasn't going to work out. The kids were so cute! Gavin kept running around yelling "Egg!" and making us all laugh. It was a lot of fun!

On Easter morning, Josie showed Charlotte how Easter baskets work, and they got right down to business eating candy.

We also had a couple of play days at Trisha's house. The kids have a wonderful array of dress-up clothes for both boys and girls, so they all dressed up.
Oh, and in April, we celebrated our 7th anniversary! I can't believe how the time has flown. It really doesn't seem like 7 years since we got married, but it had been a fantastic 7 years and we look forward to an eternity more!
I'm hoping to catch up on some blogging here, so stay tuned for the next post. :)

Charlotte's Birthday

Little Charlotte is ONE! I can't believe it! Since she shares the beginning of March with 4 other people, we decided she could have her own party, so she didn't get lost in the crowd. Plus, parties are fun! We did a lady bug party... with lots of food!
The adorable birthday girl:
Hurray! Presents!
Cake!
Thanks to everyone who came and helped us celebrate! We had lots of fun!

Just last week, we took Charlotte in for her 1 year check up. She's just a little miss--21%ile for her height and 4th percentile for her weight. We have doctor's orders to fatten her up. I just wish that her fattening diet wasn't affecting mine so much. :)
Other than being a skinny thing, she's perfectly healthy. Oh yea, and she's a walking machine! Long story short, she had lots of ear infections, and we decided to get tubes in her ears just a week before her birthday. She did a great job with everything and she is a much happier girl now. And the day we got the tubes in, she took off walking and started trying to talk. Her word arsenal now includes, "Mama, Dada, bird, shoes, dog, uhoh, yes, juice and Jos" (as in Josie). We just love this little monkey!

February

Our February wasn't too exciting, just the same day-to-day stuff. Oh, and we started house-hunting! Hurray!
The downside of having a fancy phone? I don't use my camera as much as I should! I have a ton of pictures on my phone, but when I go to blog for the month of February, I have a whopping 5 pictures. Oh well, they are still cute. :)

January

Our January started out with a little Diva practicing her paparazzi voice, "No pictures!"
"Okay, maybe just one with my mom."
Josie was so excited to finally get some snow, that she immediately pulled out the snow gear and dragged Daddy outside with her.

And luckily, we live right by the perfect sledding hill!
We went to the Church History Museum in Salt Lake with Trisha and her kids. They have a children's museum on the top floor. Lots to play with, fun learning and gospel related games, and best part? Totally free!
We built a little fort for Charlotte to crawl in and she loved it.
Dolls with felt clothes so you can dress them up and make scripture scenes.
You can help Nephi finish building his ship and then go fishing over the side of it!
Some fancy Mexican dancing with dress ups for both boys and girls.
Driving in my car... :)
Then there was the farm with chickens and eggs you can gather. There was also a section where you could plant the veggies and a little kitchen. The kids had a blast!
We also walked across the street for a minute so that the kids could all see the temple. What a fun day!
One of the girls' favorite activities to do with Daddy is to build a fort and then take as many toys in it as they can. Here's one such fort:
And last but not least, Charlotte is still trying to decide if the doll house is really just for dolls.
What a fun January!

The end of 2011!

We had a very busy November and December! In November, we moved from my brother-in-law's basement to my mother-in-law's basement. :) We celebrated Thanksgiving with the Satterthwaites, and somehow I didn't get a single picture. But November was lots of fun, playing with cousins and getting settled in a new place.
Josie and Charlotte LOVE the mirrors in Mimi's dining room.
We had lots of fun in December! We got Josie her own cookie decorator, so of course, we had to make some cookies.
We went downtown in Ogden to check out the Christmas village. Josie thought it was so wonderful that she wanted to live there.
On Christmas' Eve, we had the normal Satterthwaite family dinner, followed by a reenactment of the Nativity. Josie wasn't too sure about being a shepherd.
Charlotte was more enthralled with the ball that anything that was going on.
After the Nativity, we had a grab-bag game. We all ended up with the same thing--Chuck-a-Rama gift card!
After the grab bag, we all got new jamies from Mimi and Papa. Here's our little family:
Here are all the girl cousins in their cute jamies:
Santa stopped by our house on his way home, and he sure was kind! Josie came running in and said, "A DOLLHOUSE!!!!!! I wished and dreamed of one!" It was a great morning!

That afternoon, we stopped by Dan and Trisha's house to spend some time with my family. It was so fun to have so many of them close now!
At the end of December we had a little Satterthwaite get-together. Here are Josie and Tucker sharing the wiggle car.
When it was time to clean up, the kids got a ride on table cart. They're pretty cute!
