Baby Blessing

We blessed Charlotte in church on Sunday, April 10th. Justin gave her a beautiful blessing and it was wonderful to have so much family here with us! When we blessed Josie, none of my siblings were in Utah. This time, we were happy to have Dan & Trisha and Kelley & Nate here! Here are some pictures from the day:
We had somewhere around 35 people (including the kiddos) in our little house. For those of you who have visited, you can imagine how packed it was!
Kelley made lots of desserts to share. Here were my favorites:
Bella forgot her headband, and Charlotte just HAD to try it on..
It might be a little big. :)

Thanks to everyone who came and supported us, and brought food! We had a great day!

Oh and in case you read the last post and were wondering which picture was which, Josie was on the left and Charlotte on the right. :)

Trying to catch up..

As many of you know, and I'm sure the rest of you can imagine, going from one to two kids can be a little hectic! Our transition has been really good over all, due mainly to Josie being such a great helper, but we do have our rough days and I'm still EXHAUSTED. But then the little things, like this:
make it all worth it! Charlotte is getting big these days (almost 10 lbs!). She still sleeps most of the time, but she does stay awake for about an hour at a time, and sometimes more. She smiles the most right as she's falling asleep, but she loves Mommy and I get lots and lots of smiles. It sure makes my day!

Josie still keeps our hands full. She is such a smart little girl that some days we don't even know what to do with her! She says the funniest things and I wish we could just record them all, because I sure can't remember them. Here are a few:
"Oh no, its all my fault!"
"I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to do that."
"Oh, she's so cute!" (about Charlotte)
"But Mom, you need to come wif me to college."
"It was a askadent"

My wonderful sister-in-law took Josie for a couple days shortly after we had Charlotte so that I could recover and have a little one-on-one time with Charlotte. When I went to pick up Charlotte, baby Bella was suddenly not such a little baby anymore! I have a very similar picture of these little ones' older siblings when Josie was this little.. :)
Spring had been trying and trying to break free of winter. We've had a few nice days, but not many. On one such day, we went to the zoo here in Logan. By the way, they raised their prices. It costs twice as much now! ($1 for kids, $2 for adults)
We also got to enjoy General Conference during the first week of April. The conference was full of wonderful messages and I really enjoyed listening/watching it this time around! For the Sunday Afternoon session, we got together with my family who currently live in Utah at Dan & Trisha's house. Grandpa and Grandma Sessions (my grandparents) were down from Idaho. It was great to see them for a couple of hours!

I took a picture of Charlotte and it seemed oddly familiar. Probably because I had this one of Josie. The question is, which is Charlotte and which is Josie? :)

Newborn pictures

My wonderful friend Noelle was doing a 20 portrait give away, so we took her up on the offer. She did an amazing job on our family pictures last year, so I jumped at the chance to have her do Charlotte's newborn pictures. Once again, we got wonderful pictures!! Click here to go to her website and see some of the pictures of Charlotte. They're fantastic!
Here's a sneak peek:

Little Stinker!

We were trying to have some tummy time on Thursday and Charlotte decided she didn't like it so much, so she rolled on over to her back. We thought it was a fluke. Well, this morning she did it again. What a little stink! :)

I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. Josie rolled over at 2 1/2 weeks old too..

Two Weeks Old!

Well, our newest little princess is 2 weeks old! I can't believe it! It seems to be going to much faster this time around, probably because I have Josie to keep me extra busy. But we've had a fantastic 2 weeks! Charlotte is growing wonderfully and she's such a great baby! She's already back up to 7 lbs 7 oz (she was down to 6lbs 9 oz) and she's now 19 3/4" long. We are happy to report that her head circumference is only in the 72%ile! (Josie has always been in the 95th..)
At her first appointment (3 days old), the doctor heard a really faint heart murmur. Judging by how it sounded, he was pretty sure it would just go away on its own. Well, it did. Hurrah! Also, the jaundice that we were dealing with is pretty much gone. She's still slightly yellow, but its definitely on its way out.
Here are a few pictures from the last week:
She smiles in her sleep and I finally caught it on camera! So adorable!
As for our other little princess, she is adjusting well to this new life we have around here. She loves her baby sister and loves to tell anyone and everyone all about her. She's also a great little helper! She fetches blankets, binkies, whatever, and gets rid of the stinky diapers. She also gets very concerned if sister cries at all. "Mom, she needs your help!" :)

I wish I had a video camera on her all day long. She says the funniest things! And there is just no way I can remember them all! Here are a few of the ones that make us laugh:
"Um, excuse me sir!" (when she wants someone's attention)
"You bet, mister ma'am!" (after I ask her to do something)
"I willn't!" (instead of "I won't)
"You look beautiful!" (and other variations, including "Your hair is so beautiful!")
"I will be Repunzel and you be the queen Mother." (we like to pretend. And she says REpunzel instead of Rapunzel.)
She tries to rename people. She'll ask what someone's name is and then say, "I will call her.." and usually finish with some gibberish.
She uses "well" a LOT. Usually followed by a long pause.
And she's generally just a silly girl. Here's the proof:
Being a big sister is hard work!
We make sure to have some quality girl time. :)
