Playing Catch-up

I just haven't really felt like blogging lately. Maybe its because my stupid Internet takes too long to upload the pictures. Who knows. Well, I finally decided to post some highlights from the last month and move on so I can keep up to date. At the beginning of this month, we took a trip up to Island Park, ID with Justin's family. It was a TON of fun!! Lots of eating, playing games, 4-wheeling, and Yellowstone! Here are some pictures.
Finding new things in the cabin..

Yellowstone Trip

Down by the river in Island Park..

Justin caught a fish!

Josie loved all the flowers everywhere

We went and saw the play "The Secret Garden" at the Playmill Theater in West Yellowstone. Josie liked the pre-show and then threw fits the rest of the time. Luckily, I'd seen the same play a couple years ago, so I wasn't upset about being in the hall the whole time. It was like having a back-stage pass! :)

The rest of the month has been filled with Birthdays, baby blessing, getting ready for fall, and having a silly baby at home. We love her to pieces!

Josie has a new-found love for the zoo. We get a gasp and a point every time she spots an animal and she feels quite at home there..

So there is the super-fast update on the last month. Yes, TONS of pictures were left out, but you get the idea. :) In the next few days, I'm going to post a few videos so you can see Josie Bug in action. She's adorable!

Dancing Queen

I've been wanting to put these videos up for a few days now. I had grand schemes of editing and merging them and adding fancy things in, but I only have so many hours in a day, and even fewer hours when Josie is sleeping. So I decided to just share the videos because they are hilarious!

If you listen to the music in the background on this one, you may recognize the Elmo's World song..

This one is the hot dog song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. She's a big fan of Elmo and Mickey!

Nerds are handy!

So some of you may have noticed the recent changes of the blog look. I just had to brag for a minute. My wonderful hubby has helped me totally customize my blog. I can choose whatever color I want, and he finds out what its called (its hexadecimal value) and we can change the colors of the background, font, etc. We even made the header a font that wasn't one of the choices provided by blogger. And check out my fancy header picture--rounded corners and all. Whoever said nerds aren't handy was TOTALLY wrong. My blog is awesome, and I have my handy nerd to thank. Thank you hunny!!

It's beginning to look a lot like autumn!

I decided to take a minute to blog this evening, thinking that it wouldn't be too bad, since it wasn't very long since the last post. Then I plugged in my camera and had 194 new pictures. WHAT??? I know, I was shocked. So once again, we are back to the picture-full posts. But that's what everyone loves, right?? Here is a glimpse into what we've been doing lately.
Josie still thinks she's little.. hmm..

First fruits of the garden!! Hurray! (p.s. I have TONS and TONS of little tomatoes, stop by if you want some!!)

Mischievous Monkey
Josie is into EVERYTHING. Here's a glimpse into a day with her at home..

Hanging out with Tucker. Just for fun, here's a picture of them almost 1 year ago on Halloween. My, how they've grown!!!
My pretty flowers in the back yard FINALLY bloomed. They were gorgeous, but didn't last very long. :(

Since her birthday, we've decided that Josie can have dessert. So here she is, enjoying some peach shortcake, with peaches from Mimi's garden. (Yes, she's licking the plate).

We finally got everyone together to celebrate the August birthdays with the family. My niece Kate and I were the only birthdays this month, so I made a cake for her, and Mimi made a cake for me. Here's Kate's cake--Josie thought it was really yummy!

Last but certainly not least, we went to Kelley and Nate's reception here in Utah. I got there and pulled my camera out in time to realize that the battery was DEAD. I'm lucky to have these pictures. Great friends from Kailua: Beth, Polly and Steff. It was great to see you ladies! Miss you!!

San Diego Zoo

Its a Saturday afternoon and I somehow got the hubby and the baby down for naps! So, I figured now would be a GREAT time to update the blog. We spent the day after the wedding at the San Diego Zoo. For those of you who haven't been there, it is HUGE. We were there from 10 am to 7pm and still didn't see the whole thing. Quite the change from the zoo in Logan, which takes a whole 45 minutes if you dawdle. So it was a very long, tiring, but very cool day. And it was great to spend the day with almost all my family. WARNING: TONS OF PICTURES!!
While we waited to get our tickets, Brandson thought about trying out this walking business.

The first thing we did inside the zoo was a bus tour. If you ever go, take the tour. Especially if its included in the price of your ticket. Its pretty cool! Waiting in line for the tour...

On the tour...
Dan & Trisha

Staying hydrated!

Can you guess which kids are brother and sister?
We had one double stroller that reclined, so the kids took turns taking naps. We had random people all day asking about twins, or brother and sister, etc. We decided that this picture combo here shows which kids look the most alike: L-Brandson and Josie, R- Noah and Naylia.

They had these little photo ops all over the zoo. It was so fun!

Noah, checking out the animals.

The Pandas

Hippo was a favorite.

Noah found a stick! Hurray!

I know bears and fierce and all, but they looks so cute and cuddly when they're sleeping..

Josie Bug

The Lion was another favorite. At every other zoo I've been to, the lion is always sleeping out of sight. This one just woke up and decided to take a stroll and make some noise. It was awesome!

Interesting...

Nate has super strength!! Check him out!

P.S. That's not a real elephant..
Here are the real elephants!

Giraffe feeding time

Rhino with his amazing body armor..

Can you find what every one is looking at? Hint: SHE's next to the street sign.

Bigger Hint: She's a lady dressed up like a plant.. You can only see her face.
Petting Zoo
Josie and Noah needed some help being soft.. and not chasing the goats.

So cute!

Papa and Tutu wanted a picture with all of their grandkids, since this is the first time they've ever been all together. So here they are with Nate (10), Naylia (3), Noah (15 mo.), Brandson (11 mo.), and Josie (13 mo.). We had just gotten Noah and Josie back in their strollers, so we didn't take them out.

Me with Naylia and Josie outside of the zoo.

After the zoo, we stopped at a nearby Denny's to have some dinner. Yum!
It was a CRAZY LONG day, but it was tons of fun. I totally recommend the Zoo, if you're going to the San Diego area!
